I couldn’t figure out which Mastodon server I should join, so I joined none.
I don’t need a bunch of Linux neckbeards telling me why their social media platform is so great. It’s already annoying that they judge me for using a Mac and not running “Umbuntu BSD OpenFree Pro” or some shit.
I'm on both. I don't think I'm special. Sometimes clever, but not because I'm on Mastodon. This is really just following two sets fleeing from Twitter because I don't want to lose track of either set of folks.
Why are people so dramatic over such petty differences? Elon sucks is the common point.
It's kinda sad, Mastodon's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness, even if you land on a good server, there are no guarantees that it'll stay good, or it could even shut down altogether, then you are forced to search for another etc. Then you figure out all your contacts are somewhere else🙄
Bluesky provided a standard, official and functional app.
Honestly one of the big things Mastodon fucked up in its search to be decentralised (even when it's not efficient/strategic).
