What I have seen is a bunch of self-identified leftists saying that Biden and Trump are basically the same so it doesn’t matter who wins; I have also seen a few self-identified leftists who prefer accelerationism and think if Trump wins, the End Of Capitalism will arrive bc the people will revolt.

The biggest were after Macron used a provision in French law (which he has used a bunch of times, btw) to force through an increase to the legal retirement age without a parliamentary vote. (He knew he would never have gotten the votes.) Trash didn’t get picked up, people set fires in the streets, &

Yeah, it was wild to hear them just popping nonstop in full daylight. I usually like them, but it was SO MANY HOURS! It would have been hard to sleep thru even if my dog hadn’t been sitting bolt upright in bed staring at me with bugged eyes and pinned back ears.

For the first time, my 10yo dog was freaked out by fireworks this year, and I’m on his side—they started around 6pm (full daylight??) and dog was fine thru the end of the city’s show at 11, but started to be freaked by 11:30 when they Just Kept Going. Didn’t slow down til past 2am. 🥴 TEW MUCH!

Actually TBF continually shocked to read transcripts of many of his speeches in French (I don’t usually watch them live) bc he sounds so reasonable/good when he gives speeches in English. Like Netanyahu I guess. I was fooled by him in the 90s, but my Israeli friends never were.
