idk. i've been using the same old cheap DAC and amp for like 10 years now with no issues in foobar2k or otherwise. works fine on my phone/m2 air too. toggling lossless audio on and off in the app sometimes fixes it, temporarily

i changed one setting and it doesn't go above 1.18V at any point, temps are 10-20C lower while gaming and benchmarks are within margin of error. really silly but i guess frying people's stuff with stupid defaults means they'll buy more

where i live was one of the first places to try carbon capture/sequestration, the project went 3x over budget to $1.2bn and most notably Does Not Work. optimistically it captures ~60% of emissions from the turbine it's installed on and consumes most of that turbine's generative capacity to do so
