And then we fight over who gets to be in the loser bucket of the rules... We don't have to have a loser bucket at all... But instead.. we sacrifice one group for the advancement of another, a CHOICE that we make.

That's kind of the cool part about human society being entirely made up is the fact that We can completely control that. We made up the game... we control the rules... We is a species have a shared objective. We make up all these rules so that only fall into one of two groups winner or loser

Even with everything I still have this bemused detachment to the rest of the world in general. There's so many problems that our entirely self-inflicted and we made up the rules that are causing the pain We could just unmake those rules The only problem is that people can't agree.

A private law enforcement and rescue agency will, of course, need a trained black ops unit for the high price clientele that needs to escape hostile territory. Paw Patrol just introduces kids to the lucrative field of paramilitary mercenary work, what's wrong with that? 😊

So I either need to find a fast track PhD program or have the ability to afford the ability to go through the longer program with the risk of me losing interest. I don't know how to do either of those or if either of those or even possible...

I love that idea, but I can't hold onto an interest long enough to get through college for a PHD. Can I learn that much and probably do the work needed, I don't doubt that. It's the time, it takes so long. And the money.. I can't afford the debt for a "maybe". Family money makes me risk averse..

I had the "no purpose, no passion" spiral that comes with #ADHD.

When I work at a job I can do amazing things, I set new boundaries, I set new standards, and I've revolutionized internal stems and processes... But that only lasts about 9 months. Then I get bored and want to move on.

My eyes lose focus, I can't keep them tracked to a point of interest, and it feels like a force is actively fighting against my will.
I try to push through, only to be overwhelmed by the sound of static and screaming in my mind, loud enough to block the thought and effort I'm trying to push.

The fact that this cartoonist and his partner had a miscarriage (totally normal event that no one talks about) and couldn't find a way, other than in their art, to express the heavy emotions in that moment being met with ridicule and contempt, to be "meme"-ed for being vulnerable.. is heartbreaking

What, curbing "bandwagoning" and social media "mobs" from flaming threads and threatening people. So, it's been possible this whole time (not here but I'm older platforms) and people just weren't working to implement O.P. controls...

I'll never understand the narrative that "Higher wages are bad".. When all of the effects of wage increases is a choice created by the people that were forced to pay higher wages. The capitalistic response to raising wages seems to be: "If you do it I'll hurt you.", abusive assholes.
