It's hard to see normal relations resume with China while they illegally and aggressively try to claim an area of water the size of the Gulf of Mexico. And what a terrible precedent it would set should it be allowed. China isn't the only large nation who could bully and steal from neighbors.

This isn't going to win him any votes, so I expect they won't push this as a talking point. And considering there are plenty of Trump voters who would have been given forgiveness, I can't image them implementing this unless they can somehow target it to only impact progressives. Tall order.

The money for just 1 plant, online 10+ years from now, could be used to build energy storage systems today. Big energy is afraid of rampant renewable power and stable grids with static margins. Heavily pushing only profit driven solutions. I wonder who's interest Dutton is working towards?

Community batteries are an answer, but as they would help eliminate one of the mechanisms they use to make money, don't expect power companies to help. Also, at some point increased production and distributed storage starts to eliminate the need for the primary producers outright.
