Hmm. I haven't seen any research on this issue in particular, but I know that many of those in the "squishy middle" (non-MAGA morons who barely pay attention) hold bigoted and/or idiotic views, but still might easily vote for a Dem. It's still dumb strategy, but "not a single one" sounds wrong.

*slightly* disagree here: I don’t think calculus is even to win voters. Same as immigration, it’s to get nyt et al to shut up about it & move to friendlier topics. But conclusion is similar—they don’t get media is in the tank for gop, and nothing, including Biden stepping aside, will appease them

Anti-trans lunatics are fringe, but with the help of outlets like the NYT, they’ve succeeded in making “child surgery” an issue they can use strategically. A not small number of ppl who are pro trans rights, but are uncomfortable with the prospect of gender reassignment surgery for children
