Yeah, the label printer is working fine EXCEPT it thinks it has 8.5x11 paper in it which, little buddy, you are four inches wide.

He had his depo-medrol shot Monday night and is finally feeling better, which means we have maybe two good weeks before the shot wears off again. Bad days are starting to outweigh the good ones for the old man. ๐

Traffic wasn't heavy but boy howdy there were some erratic drivers out there, both ways.

When we first moved here, we lived on the Shore. Traffic was certainly a thing in summer, but since we were mostly going local places it was very avoidable. Then we moved offshore but weren't on the route from Philly to AC. Now we kind of are, so this is new to us.

Kids want picked up at 10:30. Will we encounter returning Shore traffic? STAY TUNED (the advantage of it being potential on the *return* trip is I can go out on ACE and see what the oncoming lanes look like without even asking GMaps.)

ISTR our otherwise most nervous dog (greyhound) was unbothered too. ๐คท We lived near a AAA ball park and had a border collie mix who not only wasn't afraid of fireworks but asked to be let outside to run to the corner of the yard from which he could see postgame ones. Stood out there mesmerized.

I rode this in the spring of '79: youtu.be/tAwNaJdw4Us?...
My sister had just leaned over to excitedly say something to the rest of us when Bruce came up behind her and sprayed water (a sharp hiss) and she didn't even see it but still almost jumped across the rest of us and out of the tram. ๐

I am supposed to be preparing the workroom for the new embroidery-machine stand so I can take how-to videos but yesterday's dolphin adventure got me thinking about the Blue Shark design ( silverseams.com/shop/downloa... ) and how I wanted a dolphin but with some curve to it. Anyway, a (shark) test:

Kind of? I mean sighthound people know it's a big deal that they have what's called a "double-suspension" run, in that they get all four feet off the ground at two separate points in the stride. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_...
They don't say "airborne" though, but eh, maybe in headlines? ๐คท

I feel like it's been around awhile to refer to e.g. a fabric print that comes in different color versions of the same design, but that it escaped containment awhile back. I want to blame HGTV house flipping folk, but since I only catch those in waiting rooms I am operating on too little data.

The offset on the round hook side means it doesn't work that way. Now I'm wondering if it is supposed to hang a 2x4 from something else, and if so what/why.

GMaps took us surface roads, not much longer than usual. Came back via ACE which was solid cars the other way, except for the area just downstream of where two of three lanes were blocked by a rear end accident. Not much body damage except the engine compartment of the car in back had caught fire. ๐ฌ

It's supposed to friction-fit over the end of something vertical, maybe the wide face of a 2x4. The other one would sit on the other side of whatever it was hung on, so maybe something goes between them?

We are stumped by these hooks. Mirrored pair, doesn't seem to fit on 2x4 studs or rafters, clearly is a Clever Solution, but to what?

Bonus kid's SO has the day off, and I promised to drive him to their place today. Which is half an hour down the Atlantic City Expressway. In the direction of the Jersey Shore. So "half an hour" is no longer a very reliable way of describing it. ๐ฌ (Hope it's too early for traffic to be bad...)

Less cheerful than the dolphins: on our way to the Shore we were passed by a flatbed hauling a USMC vehicle of some sort. Aside from the Punisher on the shield thingy on the gun(?) thingy, there was a Punisher-with-Trump-hair on the side. U ok, Marines?

Oh, also: the word "Wildwood" kinda covers it up but look at how ridiculously deep that beach is, it's like hiking across a whole desert to get to the water (there are shuttles!). It's my second least favorite beach (Atlantic City is the least, the boardwalk is full of speakers playing commercials).

Anyway the bunker was so dense we were seeing individual fish jumping out, and the ospreys and pelicans gave us a bit of a show. Here's where the boat goes, out and back, and the circle way up top is the Borgata Hotel, a big chonk of building out on the horizon. Bunker was *super* close.

Dolphin boat: is a jet boat the dolphins like to play in the wake of, so it's pretty much guaranteed you'll see them up close, but it goes up and down the shoreline too close for whales. Whale boat: is a big slow tour boat, goes far enough out you *might* see whales but no guarantees.

The weather was delightful (in the 70's off shore, sunny and so clear we could see all the way up to Borgata in AC from Stone Harbor), and the only annoying part was seeing so much bunker fish right on the shore - which meant the humpbacks are probably close enough to see from the whale-watch boat.
