looked up the etymology of the word "tomboy" and: - it dates back to the 1550s - changed meaning FROM "rude boy" TO "girl who acts like a spirited boy" in the 1590s shocked to discover that words can change meaning over time. also tomboy is AMAB lmao.

The central hurdle to the Internet of Things has always been "login to our server all the way across the planet so you can turn off the lights ten feet away from you." None of these companies could just sell home automation. They had to fucking bundle it with data gathering.

I mean, it's a _very_ sexist series overall, and multiple very outdated (even considering cultural differences) tropes and ideas. It's still a classic but lots of folks forget how much it largely aged like milk. I say this as someone who literally marathoned all of it last year.

Old gay furries literally run the internet infrastructure and it would not surprise me to find out that a non-zero number of them are encouraging young gay furries in this kind of pursuit or indeed engaging in it themselves.

I'm unsure what purpose a Ranma remake will serve unless it addresses the more problematic aspects of the original. And if it doesn't have some really nice fight choreography like season 3 has them what are we even doing here.
