I live in a high wildfire-risk area (Western Colorado), and we had jerks firing off professional-grade fireworks ALL night last night. Not just one or two assholes, either. We counted at LEAST 7, and those were just the ones we could see from our front yard.

Ok, the illegal neighborhood fireworks can stop at ANY TIME, thankyouverymuch. We have AT LEAST 6-7 people surrounding us shooting off professional-grade fireworks. During fire season. My dogs are NOT HAPPY. Poor Pixel is just crying and I can't get her to stop. 😭

The ONLY reason the press is still going nuts about all this random grumbling is because they've got NOTHING ELSE. This election is a slam-dunk, no brainer and they know it. There's absolutely no question which candidate should be president, but that doesn't fill columns or a ten minute news segment

That's good to hear, I may pop back in there and see what's up. I've been wanting to spin up my own Mastodon instance (I'm not fond of the whole "Oh we can shut the instance down at any time and there goes your profile" problem. Unless they've fixed that.

Yep. Post and Spoutible were pretty quickly "Oh hell no, I'm out of here." Threads is also a "not a chance" platform. I still have Mastodon and CounterSocial accounts, but I never use them. Bluesky scratches all of the itches that Twitter did, but with a lot fewer Nazis.

It's a shame they did that, they handed out pills like candy when I was in. I was an OTA back when the rate still existed, '81-'84. Norfolk for A School, then off to Bermuda for the rest of my tour. Spent a year in Japan as a dependent wife after I got out.

Nice! I got the flat-back studs, and they are SO comfortable. My daith is a little heart-shaped hoop with purple gems, but the rest are flat-back studs. I don't even notice them when I'm in bed. I did the hoops for a while but I wanted something even smaller!
