With scarcely a voice being raised against it, we are sliding into a police state, in which an entirely peaceful protester, trying to prevent a societal catastrophe, can get six months in jail for marching slowly down the road. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
they are just fluffy terrorists who should be treated like real terrorists.
How do they get to these protests. They drive. Why are so many of their social media posts from exotic locations. Did they walk there. Hypocrites will alwys be hypocrites, Moonbat
I 'get' this story.
But I also wonder how I'd react, if there were slow marching anti-choice ppl wandering down roads to schools preventing parents from dropping off their kids and getting to work.
It's a cross I bear, to often consider how laws/absence of laws may be used for other purposes.😬
Absolutely. I am not from the UK and do not live there, but as someone with a deep interest in global politics, and my admiration for UK democracy, I follow UK politics. The move right and away from democratic norms is disturbing
The "dystopian future" authors have been writing about for decades has been in place for years, it's just now beginning to show itself through fascist militarized police forces.
This is a real concern....
A spokesperson for the campaign said: “Section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023, a law drafted by the fossil fuel lobby, was introduced in April by Priti Patel, and covers ‘interference with the use or operation of key national infrastructure’.
Where are all those famous "defenders of freedom" now?
Ah yes, the only freedoms they defend are the freedoms to spread hatred about Black and Brown people, Jews, Muslims, women and people with disabilities. They couldn't give a damn about fundamental liberties.
Yes but some haven’t helped themselves or us. Namely those who stop traffic and hold up emergency vehicles and people needing to get to a variety of places. These irresponsible self-defeating protestors have made it easier for government to take away these rights.
