I detest the rail situation, but people like Khan at the FTC as well as McFerran and Abruzzo at the NLRB have been easily the best appointees in my middle-aged lifetime. As you said, bar in a ditch, but they've been better than anything I could expect.
I'm not a Biden cheerleader, never will be, I know enough about his Senate history that I will never ever like the man.
He is, however, a relatively responsive target.
At least when it comes to people in his base who know how to mobilize.

Also, making the whole country a hazardous area? As Labor, I do not appreciate the personal PPE requirements.
The things I like about Biden are probably rooted in how a good deal of my left-leaning views are rooted in 1930s-1950s labor liberalism (aka “The Great Compression”). But I also think that old AFL-CIO liberalism explains Biden’s biases & blinders on Gaza.
