People bitching about Jim Lee charging 20k for his largest commissions and then seeing this post about Bernie Wrightson’s piece selling for over a million. Do you think Bernie got a cut? Don’t know but do know how many artists used to sell their stuff for a few hundred only to see it now skyrocket.

Maybe this thought isn't popular, but every artist should be selling their commissinos for $1k minimum, and selling prints of them. Nobody should do commissions at the rates they're currently at. They're too low and devalues the art.

People are mad because they always expect artists to be the sucker. To undervalue themselves so they can be the one to gain something for just nagging an artist into submission. Jim Lee doesn’t need to have his art hanging in your crusty ass room. It’s Jim Lee.
