Some people are upset he’s charging 20k and up for his higher end commissions but Lee is a multimillionaire and maybe one of the most famous living comic legend we have left, of course he can charge whatever the hell he wants. Also, his commissions have proven to be worth that and more.

That seems what they were going for in the new trailer but just something off about the visuals to me. Seems low budget and using some of the most recently overused horror tropes but I’d be happy to be wrong here. I love Hellboy and if this one bombs like the last one, could be over for adaptations.

Just saw the new Hellboy trailer and i hope its good but not looking that way. I kinda don't get how we get a Hellboy like this when Legend was cranking out this kinda stuff in the 80s. Damn...Hellboy but just steal the whole vibe of Legend, now that would be amazing.

Same. Unless you can get to a point where you can get those rare living wage gigs on a regular basis, just hard to justify not investing in your personal projects. Just gotta hope things change because there is money out there as much as they try to tell us there isn’t.

Knowing this article is most likely the result of Webtoons recently going public and their investors using their PR pull to crank out a nonsense article to brag about how much blood they can squeeze out of their workers...yeah i hate it so much. Hoping Webtoons's decent into hell is quick.

First the Jim Lee commission price discourse and now this...everyone jack up their commission prices by at least 1k now. All old work you did where you undercharged, send that person a bill for this new price. I'm starting a mob to enforce this. I need our most ruthless goons now!

People bitching about Jim Lee charging 20k for his largest commissions and then seeing this post about Bernie Wrightson’s piece selling for over a million. Do you think Bernie got a cut? Don’t know but do know how many artists used to sell their stuff for a few hundred only to see it now skyrocket.

Artists should still be allowed to pay for meals by doing a doodle on a napkin and the whole restaurant staff bowing in appreciation as you stumble drunkenly out the door with a half full bottle of wine. But instead, got to gofundme for some 5 Guys.

You should probably go ahead and make your art, because you're the only one that can do it. Frankly, someone's gonna need it someday

The prices even some pros charge is criminally low and just a predatory part of how this industry has treated us but…I could rant about this forever. We deserve better but got to eat so, don’t blame people for charging so low, but I’ll always be angry about it.

People are mad because they always expect artists to be the sucker. To undervalue themselves so they can be the one to gain something for just nagging an artist into submission. Jim Lee doesn’t need to have his art hanging in your crusty ass room. It’s Jim Lee.

Of course like every influence, it adapts and molds into something more personal but those tree roots in this, i might still not do as good as Vess but in my head, this is still what i see before the pen hits the paper.

Charles Vess rules so hard. Was thinking about what piece of art really made an impact on me as a kid to push me into my art style and though the Final Fantasy 3 booklet, or my few anime magazines are close, its got to be this Vess piece that was an insert of my first Heroes Con guide book.

On October 7th, I knew that Israel’s response would be disproportionate
But forgive me: I didn’t realize just how far they would go. Or how far they would be allowed to go. It was apparent to me by October 9th that Israel’s policy was full extermination.
But you Americans just don’t care

Israel bombed a convoy of food aid workers. They bombed them multiple times, slaughtering the workers
This was front page news and an international crisis

So sorry to hear that Lu. He seemed like a once in a lifetime friend. Not fair how short their lives are but so worth the price of heartache.

I would feel better if we were all just in mutual state of hallucinating because the Earth is melting right now and last night we didn't actually see our only options for president.

Watched what little i could stand of the debates and in a fever dream thought i imagined Robert Kennedy Jr and his brain worm editing himself into the debate and pretending to be there answering questions...i can't even bother to double check if i really saw that because my brain is mush now.
