Wife has inexplicably agreed to watch a Predator movie and, if she likes it, she will watch more. However I am stumped on whether or not to start with the original or the prequel, Prey. If it misses, there will be no Predator 2 or, more importantly, Predators. Internet! Help me decide!

'Prey' may be the best broad point of initiation. If I know someone is open to the 80s sensibilities & action onslaught of the original I'd start there, & liking it guarantees appreciating the others, but IMO 'Prey' is the most carefully honed, & ready-made for as big a modern audience as possible.

The original. Here's my reasoning: most of the Predator movies are more like the original than Prey is. Prey is a good movie, but it's not like Predator 2, The Predator, Predators, etc... Whereas the first one is clearly the template the others are working off of.
