Watched Ridley Scott's Robin Hood last night. Hannah and I really enjoyed it. Max Von Sydow was great. So was Cate Blanchett. The Middle Ages as mud. Fun!

Reading Berryman this evening. The Heart is Strange, New Collected. Thumbing through I recognize one here and there. "11 Address to God" (incorrect title, I don't have it in my hand) is very good. I have tried B before. Maybe I'll get somewhere this time

Thought experiment, but I do have a desire to articulate and refine ideas I have about how poems work or fail to work. I read so slowly. But still maybe I should take a little bit of that reading time to write something about each of the books I read

What I mean is, in the Book of Numbers, refuge cities are established where someone who kills inadvertently may flee to. Does this mean there were no jails? Was most justice vigilante? Were the refuge cities where you went to wait safely for a judge to hear your case?

The baby brought me John Yau's Tell It Slant and asked me to read it to her. She lost interest after just one poem. But I think it's pretty good!
