This is such a beautiful homage to Igon. His desperate and spiteful character made the fight against Bayle really feel like it had a grand purpose. They could have done Bayle without Igon, but Igon emphasizes that to kill Bayle is to rid the world of a beast who terrorized so many for so long

I love how slaying a dragon is such a classic fantasy trope but FromSoft always manages to make it feel so unique Bayle isnt just a dragon, hes THE dragon. The one who likely destroyed Faram Azula. He sits upon a literal mountain of bodies of the humans and dragons who tried and failed to kill him
