I'm getting really excited for Dark Tranquillity's upcoming album. I feel like their output since We Are The Void has been very off-and-on, but this single is an emotional banger and has me very optimistic.

Mikael sounds incredible, as always.

Didn't know that about Heresiarch, what a shame. Immediately removed their albums from my Spotify library. Definitely did not know that DHG had some sketchy ties, that is extremely disappointing to find out. Will have to do some thinking on them (Their latest really got me).

Inter Arma's cover of Neil Young's Southern Man. Taking the main melody and turning it into an absolutely crushing blackened doom metal riff is nothing short of incredible. Heavy as a steamroller. And those guitar solos, my goodness they are epic.

r/RABM has been a really good source for me, they have a whole bunch of threads where they discuss bands and why or why not they are sketch. Threads like those warned me about Aklys, which just had an album drop and is making waves.

Not feeling great today, mentally. Sometimes life kicks you down and then kicks you when you're down. "When it rains, it pours like hell". On a similar note, I really hope that one day I finally stop waiting for life to happen and start working towards making it happen.

Oof. Folks over at Metal Archives really do not like the Synestia / Disembodied Tyrant EP The Poetic Edda. Honestly? I really quite enjoy it. It's not the best symphonic deathcore out there arguably, but I think there is more to like than not.

Today was the opening day for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Honestly, I had a pretty chill shift, since it was mostly just an easy morning followed by an afternoon storm. Got some of the critter cards tho, happy about that.

Recently I talked about deathcore being much better once you actually dig into the genre. What about djent? I haven't found a djent band that I really enjoy listening to beyond maybe a snippet here and there. What are the djent bands that I should be looking into if I want to get into it?
