lf you leave off the period at the end of the request statement the answer is one character short. I got the "too short" message, went back and added the period, and it worked.

I did it and got a response basically saying they review these based on the laws where you live. IE you aren't automatically opted out just by filling out the form.

Thanks for that; what really ticks me off about this is I already went through this when they emailed me about Instagram; why do we have to do this on each site seperately when they're all in the same Meta dataset? I guess it's because if we forget on one of them, they can still try and use it.

I just did it, and I slightly modified the statement that was to be written in the text box at the end. I took out “I wish to“ and just directly said “I exercise my rights“ Just so that there’s no wiggle room.

Interestingly, I was able to complete the process described, but when I hit the final submit after entering the code they'd sent, I immediately received a "confirmation" email saying thanks for sending the request and stating that Meta doesn't always honor consumer requests depending on state laws.😏

FYI - they will no longer take your short-and-sweet sentence as the reason. When I entered the 6-digit number, I got an error saying "Response is too short", and then I had to wait for yet another secret number to do it again. My longer reply had rather more all cap phrases.

I managed to get the Right to Object form working, if only temporarily, by changing my region to Germany English, using a VPN, and (unsure if relevant) changing my "lives in" profile status to somewhere in the EU. Ironically, the Right to Object link no longer works for me but I managed to opt out
