Tough double bill this evening. 1/ Peter Watkins' The War Game (1966), commissioned for The Wednesday Play but pulled by the BBC before transmission, and not broadcast for nearly 20 years. A pseudo-documentary, it is very much a dry run for Threads (1984). 2/ Alain Resnais' Night & Fog (1956).
