American politics is such a mess. At what point in the campaign is it ok to say that the nation deserves whoever it gets? They’re both terrible candidates and that was somehow the best that could be trotted out.

Is there a good way of getting back into Destiny? It seems so impenetrable as a lapsed player. I last played it in 2021, and the amount of stuff it bombards you with when you boot it up now is overwhelming.

I bet! Same around here. Most of these builds get torn down the second the video posts, but this one is staying together because as it turns out, we occasionally have a need for a working testbed for older hardware. Anyhoo! Hope you enjoyed it, I hope we do another Dream Machine one day

Fun story about that mouse: the first one we bought was in the right packaging, but was just a regular Wheelmouse. The second one was the right mouse, but it took ages to find the correct driver to make it work. Gotta love eBay sellers.

There’s a lot of weird about this computer! I believe the parts list specified two IBM Deskstars running in RAID and this board that uses RDRAM. I don’t think I’ve ever seen RDRAM in person before. I was also 13 in 2001, so that probably doesn’t help.

Not my project, but I’ve been shouting encouragement at the machine. I don’t get to help out on this stuff all the time, but I got a lot of joy in describing how jumper settings work and how to use an IDE cable etc. I think this era of computing is what I’m most excited about.
