at the end of our walk my folks were met when who should appear but the dog-walker that runs her two big dogs with leashes attached to her waist. Char chased them about third of our block before she was satisfied she'd run them off. not bad for a 17 year old pup! i carried her home in great triumph!

today's am walk (6K steps) was weirdly quiet. encountered only 5 people. normally it would be 10-15 or more. more folks are stepping out now, so i'm hopeful Char's am walk will be more convivial. Char does so enjoy coming upon fellow dogs.

I think C, although I am less upset. I am reading the CA driver's handbook with great interest. I learned to call golf carts driving on city streets NEVs (neighborhood electric vehicle), that they're restricted to roads 35mph and under. In my 'hood there's a Christmas decoration procession of NEVs.

in order to beat the day's high in the upper 90s, i put in around 9500 steps by 8:30AM and now i am beat. the best thing about winter is being able to break my daily walking goals into three instead of two jaunts. oh well, by 9 tonight i will be recovered!
