The biggest criticism I had of it in the trailers was that it didn’t look grimey enough for the setting. Too shiny and clean for the Wasteland. But I know those shots often aren’t final.

I am fully willing to admit this may be a “me problem”, but I have a 2020 Honda and just read the 8 pages of the manual about its ACC system and a) I don’t think I can turn off LKAS and b) it involves enough button presses and looking at the console that I think I’d rather just drive.

Fair, I am also a fairly all or nothing person. If you give me a technology that implies I can pay less attention to the road, but really you still need to pay full attention, I still feel like I’m gonna pay less attention. If other folks can walk that line, that’s great; it just isn’t for me.

I think we’re kinda arguing for the same thing. It seems fairly clear that every movie cannot be a $200 million budget blockbuster, but that’s what the industry seems to be trying. They have their place, but we need more smaller movies that can make money on a $25m opening.

You realize he didn’t keep all that money, right? It paid for crew, craftsmen, and artists to work. Could Netflix have given it to someone else? Sure, but they equally could have used it for stock buybacks and made nothing, which they did with $400m last year. I’d rather they made Rebel Moon 4-6.

Let me put it this way, Zack Snyder fucked Netflix out of $160m to let him make an idea he had in high school. A lot of people were employed for many months working on it & by all accounts had a good experience making it. It’s the perfect heist; nobody got hurt but a corporation.

Ehh, I watched both and besides the script being awful (though let’s be honest, not that much worse than Star Wars), every department is firing on all cylinders, the cast is trying really hard w/the material, VFX looks great, all for $160m for 2 movies? IMO let Snyder cook.
