A few years ago, Jon Lovett floated a theory that media treats Democrats like protagonists - to be challenged, accounted, and forced to be behave in growth-oriented ways - while the GOP are treated like antagonists - immutable, expected to disrupt, thematic obstacles.
Thinking about that a lot.

Even when it's obvious enough to the target audience, too many people who aren't in on the joke will either take it and run with it, or have the narrative that's being mocked subtly reinforced.

My guess is that he doesn't think those should count, because if you don't have a valid license then you shouldn't be driving anyway and speed cameras didn't stop you.
Which is a stupid argument, because if you're driving without a license, you really don't want to get caught on camera.

It seems like such a waste of time, resources, and money, so in an effort to have some actual good come out of this I'm going to donate $14.99 (the cover price of the book) to a worthwhile charity like Save The Children or The Trevor Project

I received this unsolicited piece of propaganda in the mail today. Apparently, Remnant Publications feels that mass mailing Biblical fan fic to millions of people who have no interest in reading it is a better use of donations than, say, feeding the hungry or clothing the naked.

538's model also takes into account economic conditions, and I wonder if those will be less predictive than in the past. We keep hearing how the vibes don't match the typical economic indicators this cycle.

"Unless you're a psycho or a crazy person or a very stupid person, who would say that, anyway?" Trump asks at the same speech he gave where went on an insane rant about electric boats and sharks

I read the headline and thought "it can't be that bad."
Then I read the transcript and it was, in fact, that bad.

Along with Jesus, the founding fathers, MLK, and Regan. Right-wingers love to claim people who can no longer speak would obviously agree with them.

It would have really driven home the point if they had quoted her on that. My guess is there's a sense of of denial about Trump's direct role in stirring up these conspiracy theorists, so she'll still support him. But hearing that directly from her would have been worth so much more than speculating
