The idea of “PhD level intelligence” is very funny to me, personally, because I have worked with scientists for 20 years. I know someone who has helped find treatments for diseases we didn’t even think were possible and also struggled to understand how the hot tap of a water cooler worked.

Could be swamp milkweed (asclepius incarnata). The leaves look a bit different from the one I tend, but the stalks & cut canes are a good match. It's a great plant, grows 5-6 ft tall, doesn't *have* to grow in wet ground, but doesn't like to dry out too much. Nice flowers.

The first of the 17-year cicadas that I have seen that have molted. There have been scores of exit holes in the ground for weeks now, but it seems birds got those. This morning, a few got their wings.🌱
