or speak to Alito and Thomas (and a few others), actual protests made up of groups of lawyers, etc. If the profession could act with some measure of unity, it could come up with a lot of things to do that might sway opinion in the Senate and with the public.

I might suggest that lawyers are positioned to do a little more than just vote, if they're willing get noisier about corruption in the judiciary and get more organized. An association of lawyers loudly lobbying for impeachments, publishing "least wanted" lists, refusing to speak address questions...

Sending my kid to back-country paddling camp this afternoon! It's a bit bittersweet; on the one hand it's great that one of my kids has taken up one of my interests, and we can send her to a camp to do it. On the other, it's two weeks and it's a risky activity.

I support this, with two caveats from my wife who is a city councillor. 1) know what the actual proposals are before yelling for or against them and 2) yelling at the public consultations is much more effective than yelling at the final vote.

For a lot of buyers for a long time, the alternatives to Tesla were few and far between. Our last car purchase was two years ago and the only EV we could actually order was a Tesla. Everything else was back ordered a year or more out. We lucked into a Prius Prime someone decided they didn’t want.

And just to add my two cents about the fediverse, it demonstrates how community moderation can fail in a decentralized network. The biggest problem with the fedi is that community moderation varies per server, which fractures the network into neighborhoods and creates barriers to connection.

I would just note without necessarily agreeing with him that he said community moderation, not decentralization, and I don’t think those are necessarily the same. No reason why you couldn’t have one or more professional moderation services for each decentralized network.
