My daughter remembers the good things, too. I used to read Pooh stories to the kids, using distinctive voices for every character, including a squeaky falsetto for Piglet. Not too long ago she sent me this. “When I read it, I heard it in your voice.” One of our most touching exchanges.

Bill Lewis led a 5/4/2024 Re-Queening and Splitting Colonies class at our Bee Sanctuary. Besides the obvious benefit of getting more hives, splitting hives makes swarming less likely.

Lucy Barraza taught the Long Beach Beekeepers Beekeeping 101 class at the South 40 community garden 4/6. The morning was chilly, so she used an observation hive instead of opening one of the regular hives for inspection. We've been getting good mileage out of those observation hives!

Found the idiot neighbor kids playing with dad’s bow and target shooting arrows in the park. One shot an arrow straight up, and the other ran to catch it. Game over when he almost did, found a red stripe abraded across his wrist, and began wailing. Years later, physics explained it to me.
