What about when something is conceived and built for one purpose, but people come in charge who repurpose it in a different direction? Is there a distinction sometimes between what is meant to be, and what is in practice?

I had a whole graduate level semester seminar on Pragmatism with the legendary John Lachs at Vanderbilt. I would like to say I learned a lot but I had a one inch crack in my brain by the end of the second session and never caught up again

I feel like everyone should read How to Make Our Ideas Clear at least once. I tend to go for Dewey most often but I teach high school kids about democracy, so of course I would.
