This was a while back but when my Jewish dad was in the air force in the 1960s a bunch of the other airmen were checking him out in the shower one day. When he asked these gentlemen how he could help them, they asked him, with complete sincerity, where his horns and tail were.

Oh man. Since moving to Scotland in 2015, I've been asked about my horns several times, sometimes by people younger than I am. Just amazing/terrifying.

I learned about this in elementary school in suburban Philly in the late 70s/early 80s. Weirdly, the kindest people at that time were the most devout Christians. The Xmas & Easter crowd were the overt bigots.
