We always want some comforting master plan and big picture. But there is no master plan, ever, about anything, and the big picture is a photograph of the master plan. Things that work, I think, are discovered & found in process and end up FEELING like a grand design when finished.

Read THE ANNOTATED STAR WARS to see how very much, since the beginning, Lucas was a "raw idea" man that NEEDED lots of people to smooth out or re-direct; he would then run with that. There was never a "grand vision." That was a myth he let Campbell create,then deluded himself into buying into.

I am so frustrated with PROMETHEA; it is at once my favorite Alan Moore thing and my biggest disappointment, when it collapses on its own meta and becomes a kind of ATLAS SHRUGGED style didactic direct address to the reader, except with positive mysticism instead of evil selfishness.
