From others I optimistically hope for a "Would". From myself I expect a "Should". Realistically, in both instances, I prepare for a "Could".

This song always reminds me of email
Well, the years start coming
And they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart, but your head gets dumb
…So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?

For everything that gets added to the stack of labor, even those things framed as priviledge or responsibility, we must ask: What am I surrendering for this?

Who gets paid to do the admin things? If you said admin then . . . yeah it is a top-down transfer of labor, designed to increase ROI on Faculty positions and phase out administrative assistants. The commodification of the modern university also shifts our purpose from education to profit-making.

Dune, Priest, even Riddick all have these foundations that enrich the worlds they portray. Book of Eli is another, although not as space-y.

So . . . What do you like to do when you aren't working?
What is your favorite D&D character/SF-F novel/ movie?
If you could only take 3 artists' music to a deserted island, from which you would never return, who and why?
Bonus (My counselor wife says "who pooped last?" is usually inappropriate.)

This is the opposite of what is being communicated. Yes the prices went up after the wages went up but the high prices were not caused by any wages hike. They were caused by the greed of corporations that refused to take less than "record profits".

Hi There RhetComp Friends!
Are you growing anything right now? In that old bird platform there were quite a few of us that liked to share posts about what we are growing. I miss it, so lets bring @rytovak.bsky.social 's hashtag over here and share a love of things that grow.
