Had an appointment where the MD saw my mask and asked if I was sick; I said no, and he said, “Oh, good; if you were, I’d need to put on a mask because my son has Long Covid” and I’m like…but what about all the unmasked patients you see who aren’t aware that they’re ill?

Last fall, the American Medical Writers Association wanted attendees at their conference to sign something similar, and I just couldn’t. I couldn’t go spend time with a group claiming to represent excellence in Medical Communications while ignoring basic infection control.

There are also ‘wool-carder’ bees, which love to collect the wooly hairs on some plants fro their nests. The males stake out favorite fiber plants to guard from other bees (and are, therefore, also prone to zipping around a lot). BugGuide is a great resource for seeing examples
