My dog started barking in the way that means someone is at the door. I ran downstairs to find my neighbor with tears in her eyes.
Stricken by sudden foreboding (did something happen to her husband?) I said, "Are you ok?"
She said, emotionally, in a ragged voice, "We won. All 34 counts."
We hugged.

My neighbor suggested dancing in the street but we decided (it's ~100° today in Arizona) a nice cold drink inside would be appropriate. 🧉🍸

When they finally called the election for Biden, I was driving and I had to pull it into the nearby parking lot so that I could have a little cry

This does my heart good. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person who is actually scared of what this asshole might do to the country.

I'm currently in the hospital. I got the news by text, and was able to announce it to the nurses. There was dancing in the halls.

Could be that your dog was actually announcing the verdict.

I got up late, as usual, logged into the computer, saw the headline and shrieked with joy. Scaring Uini, who doesn't care about politics and had no idea what was going on. :-)
