It’s a weak metaphor because it can be misinterpreted and it’s shameful to imply people who need assistive devices are unfit for office.

The part of this discourse that interests me most is the implication that now artists and writers and anyone releasing any media that may be consumed by masses MUST check their metaphors for people who are either unwilling or unable to not take offense? 😅😅😅😅

I disagree. I think it's been a powerful, provocative visual metaphor specifically about the current candidates' ages + it feels like folks are using their discomfort as a means to shut down conversation about age and ability as it concerns the presidential candidates who are currently in the race.
