Organizers got enough signatures to put a measure protecting abortion on the ballot in Arkansas.
In *Arkansas*. They had *no national support*.
Ignore the pundits melting down over not being treated as Very Special Boys. Dobbs has fundamentally changed elections. Everything they know is wrong.
In a way, I think each state is doing their own thing is better than some national drive. The way that this has been polarized/demonized at a national level by those on the right makes a "personal/state" approach better. It's not 'Washington" imposed from above, but instead it's your neighbors.
Seems like they get it added to the ballot, vote for it, and still vote for Trump. I don’t share the optimism that this will change the outcome of a general election. Hope I’m wrong.
I am impressed. I can’t believe they had no National support. We did it here in Missouri, too. I cannot wait to vote out Josh Hawley whose wife is steeped in the “pro-life” movement and legislation against reproductive rights.
Two questions:
1. Will abortion rights be restored to any extent if and when this measure is passed?
2. Will the same voters also vote out a few antiabortionists in their next election? Say more than 3-5%.
this is not surprising. as an Arkansasan born and raised everybody I knew millennials and younger were pro abortion rights. there are a lot of leftist there and it's full of good people trying to make it better
Ohio Republicans are still PISSED about the 2023 election that passed abortion rights into the state Constitution (overriding the oppressive ban they passed) and legalized recreational weed. The GOP is pissed bc it's becoming more clear than ever they don't represent the actual population at all
This is amazing but… uh… shouldn't they have had national support?
I honestly don't know what entities are in charge of that but I feel like they must exist?
