I'm younger than Stonewall, and I've seen multiple raids on my queer social spaces in my lifetime. Any safety we have is fragile enough.
This election is fucking *existential* to our community. Right-wingers in power are out for literal blood, and have said so openly.
Our lives DO depend on this.
Centrists and moderates, listen the fuck up. I have been through queer genocide before.
They are preparing for an autocracy against us, and they are wiling to use force to get it. Be part of the solution.
And don't you dare say "they're both the same" around me.
Anyone can have notably different headspaces/vibes, without necessarily being plural. Some people refer to these as facets, different vibes/moods for the same person.
Pride BEGAN during a time of anti-sodomy laws. The first Pride was a riot against those laws. Pride is celebrated around the world in places where it is much more dangerous to be queer than here. Pride is not dependent on being ALLOWED to be who we are, itβs a promise that we WILL be no matter what
Wow. This nine page comic by Kevin Conroy (voice of Batman) and J. Bone really hit me in the gut. It's about Kevin's dysfunctional family, his early acting career, his closeted homosexuality in the 70s-80s, and coming to his audition for Batman in the early 90s. Full: www.tumblr.com/why-i-love-c...
I'mma say this for all the people in the back.
Don't vote for a person. Vote for your rights, for the rights of others. On page 5 of Project 2025's 180-day plan they openly call for outlawing porn, recommending imprisoning anyone who creates it. Are you an NSFW artist, or like the art? THIS IS YOU.
"climate change isn't real"
Yeah sometimes call this place Hotlanta, but still.
The forecast high today was 95F/35C. Observed, depending on which weather station you ask, was 99F-102F/about 38C. And on the highway:
Granted, I expect any attempted ban to only be enforced when the police really want to, like in a protest crowd β at first. But it never stops there, and eventually they'll have to reconcile it with health/ADA needs. I'm hoping someone takes it to court on those grounds.
If the state government tries a ban here, they can try to arrest me. I have a documented long covid based heart arrhythmia and they'll see my lawyer in court for damages.
I think what really matters is whether the pack prides itself on being together generally (a good thing) or uses an identifier for a sense of superiority (not so good).
Generally I've seen this in the former sense, but I've seen a few toxic packs decidedly using a name for the latter sense.
THIS IS HUGE! For the FIRST time, an HIV PrEP drug candidate in the form of a twice-yearly subcutaneous injection has shown ZERO infections in a late-stage Phase III trial. Lenacapavir was 100% effective at preventing HIV in MORE THAN 2,000 participants.
Letβs talk about that! π§ͺπ§΅β¬οΈ
Yeah. I'm already seeing very positive differences in the third edition.
Reading that first ed gave me the early seeds of understanding healthy loose polyamory. I've been putting it into practice for a while now, and wanted to go back to appreciate that (updated) source again.
I saw @aphyr.woof.group.ap.brid.gy post a thread about it, and realized I haven't read this since I picked up a dog-eared first edition from a friend's shelf a decade ago.
It's time to remind myself why I find so much intimate joy with my partners and friends, and why I love being so sex-positive.
