can anyone recommend a mobile game that isn't riddled by microtransactions and ads? looking for things to do on a long drive. I'm fine paying for one if I wont be harassed every 5 minutes lol
What platform are you on? If iOS, grab a free trial of Apple Arcade and try out a couple (Grindstone and Mini Motorways are good starters that are more “mobile”, or there are things like Fantasian)
The Zen Pinball games shouldn't be too bad, as I recall. It's been a minute since I messed with the mobile versions, but I don't think they do any ad stuff if/when you buy the tables, just for free-to-play?
Also Streets of Rage 4 is a *solid* port if you have a controller.
The only mobile games I have are: Marvel snap
Pokemon tcg
Slay the spire
And Skullgirls
Which l have their own ads (minus slay the spire), but you're not bombarded with them. I don't feel
Used to be if you were playing an offline singleplayer game, you could do it in airplane mode and it wouldn't be able to fetch an ad. Idk if that still works though.
-Dark Fear: adventure/horror/mystery, turn based combat, no ads since you buy the game
-Bad 2 Bad Delta/Extinction/Apocalypse: free to play side scrolling or top-down military shooters, option to buy no ads in each game
-Talking Tom Friends/Candy Run: optional 30-sec tap on ads, various mini games
I love Sky Children of the Light. No ads. Has in app purchasable content, but none of it is required for game play. It’s just additional cosmetics for your character or props for your space. I played for a solid year before I bought anything. Plus it’s cute.
