tbh while I have never heard the fireworks I think I remember seeing reddit posts asking if halloween fireworks was a Vancouver thing! it just definitely wasn’t a Surrey or White Rock thing

I lived in the Vancouver suburbs for like 8 years and never heard any Halloween fireworks!! idk!!! maybe it’s only a Vancouver-proper thing Rural Canadians set them off whenever they want (or to deter bears) but they don’t have neighbours to worry about

I’m gonna guess Americans as a whole maybe don’t consider fireworks to be a thing the local government provides on specific holidays at a set time in a park or waterfront location lol I would probably be mad about fireworks if randos set them off in their yards at whatever time seemed good!!

If anyone reading this wants a solitary badass fish, get a betta fish! They need only 10+ gallons [35+ L] and they’re very fun, grumpy little fish. On the other end of the scale you can keep one silver arowana in an eight foot (2.5 m) long tank and feel like a Bond villain.

Yeah, the fishkeeping hobby is really gatekeepy & intimidating so people end up getting their advice from pet store employees, who can’t be expected to know the ideal care for every species. Piranhas actually get quite large & the minimum tank size I would recommend is actually 200 gallons 😬

the main issue with age gaps imo isn’t to do with life experience or knowledge, it’s the disparity in resources & social networks. If you have a teen’s life (under guardianship of adults, treated like a minor by associates) your mental age gives you very little leverage over “real” teens! Go forth!

This is a reasonably common trope in East Asian fantasy fiction (not 100% the same, but rebooting into one’s past with all their adult knowledge) and the Western fandom community does indeed clutch their pearls about it!

If I’m talking to you about your job and I’m your boss, that’s related to my job of managing/directing your work. I don’t imagine it’s controversial to consider the president to be the VP’s boss. This is stupid and terrible for other reasons.
