Is replacement of ICE cars by electric cars realistic? Looking at this post and wondering do people have to worry about there not being enough electricity for their electric cars? www.instagram.com/reel/Cx7MfQs... #climatequestion #climate #electriccars

This is so informative. I couldn’t understand why when I brought up hydrogen the issue of where the electricity came from was such a downer. Now it’s clear.

Is really not clear or meant to be catching or easily communicated. I think there are people who can be reached with clearer communication but I don’t see that at the moment. But that can be fixed on the climate side I think.

I get asked questions that I can’t answer, for example, and I haven’t found a free site that I can send people to for their answers. I’m currently reading GARP’s SCR text which is great but it’s not public. It’s really comprehensive and has helped me in my learning journey but the language 1/2

I’m not sure what the climate PR strategy is from #climate groups. When I speak to students, ed people, business people, almost no one is thinking of this. Is there a PR strategy to reach say voters and tell how it affects? Anti-climate PR seems very organized and strategic.

So having founded a nonprofit and tried to get volunteers, at least in Jamaica, people want/need to get paid. I’ve had more success getting US based (not necessarily Jamaicans) volunteers, particularly students who want to help other students.

Yes, I’m looking for what is it that is physically done to draw carbon and resuscitate the soil. There’s land degradation in an ecosystem called the cockpit country in Jamaica. Was thinking of whether this was viable for a small community of a few hundred people with not much resources to implement.

Aarne, most people have never heard if IPCC much less read the report. I am involved in education work in Jamaica, the functional literacy level is very low. That said, the emissions are mostly at higher income levels. I expect the faster than expected physical risk manifestations will move dials

That’s a huge lag that I don’t think is being communicated to college and high schools en masse. Certainly some people are aware of course. The actionable items for a regular person seems like it wouldn’t make a dent.

A few years ago, some friends were protesting a parking lot being built on wetlands. It was expected to increase flooding in the area. Now seeing the effect of methane on warming, wondering about the trade off. From a global perspective is it better that there’s less methane?

Signing up for an optional 3 hour exam months ago seemed like a great idea for my career. It’s now Monday and looking for any and all advice on how to focus. The severity of the issue might be apparent if one can imagine my husband interjecting the term Squirrel at dinner #attentiondeficit issues

I’m following the hydrogen news which I gather is also funded by fossil fuel industry and heating I should be skeptical. What are your thoughts on the potential of hydrogen solutions

If it’s used with regenerative farming or to rejuvenate the soil, there’s plenty of denuded land so is that an option that’s not being explored. Helps farmers, land, environment??

If you come across any finding opportunities for schools to go solar, I’m looking for such funding for schools in #Jamaica
