like, wow, I can't believe that a famous songwriter put a great deal of effort into the soundtrack of a movie that was the fifth highest grossing film of 1999, and was made back when disney still considered the pinnacle of western animation.
I think folks (me included sometimes) latch onto a memetic phase and use it to boost whatever they're thinking, or use it to signal to others.
Sometimes this ends with ppl using the phases without really thinking about what their meaning would be.
Like, Disney animated features, particularly of the era, are known for memorable, killer soundtracks, sometimes by known music stars, so the quality isn't some surprise.
It's a film heavily focused on family, love, and emotion, so the tone of the music isn't out of line, either.
