Twitter x is now a private company which can operate as it pleases. It offers a feeling of engagement to sap users, when in fact the people and topics Elon likes are heavily weighted to dominate. Anyone who does not know the platform is the peak of rigged, inauthentic trend jacking are fools.

US #highered research over the decades, has contributed enormously to business and to the US #economy. I’ve worked in cancer research. Once research and NIH became more politicized, talented researchers started to avoid the US. And why not? Far right demagogues will damage a key economic engine.

Why? These are American kids and adults who embraced the ideals of America. I have relatives who spent time in the internment camps and later joined the military and remained patriotic. It’s their fucking country. It’s an assertion to me. while despising the camps and policies and racism behind it.

A few media / digital literate people have warned about this far right media revolution for years. It started when opaque scammers and far right actors and entities found they could jack social with alarmist click bait etc. That innovation spread across channels and mediums. Mass propaganda works.
