True, but, and again, I’m drawing on my own quite common experience of caring for an elderly parent, old people who start to slip can often decline very fast. If you could promise me Biden will not get worse, great.

Totally agree! But speaking as someone who’s attended Harris fundraisers for governor and for president, if Biden does step down, the impulse to at least kick the tires on Whitmer is not crazy, I don’t think. That said, plenty of people who took a couple elections to get good on the national stage

To be fair, the last time she was in a national election, everyone thought she would be a formidable candidate but she did terribly, and was widely considered a surprisingly poor campaigner. So there is a data point.
