"Fruity" is at least a little more decorous than "raunchy", which is in the running for my least favourite word ever.

Just found out about a massive data leak at Twitter/X. I don't use it anymore but I keep my account alive so no one else can claim my username. I just changed my password and suggest others do too. Also use 2FA whenever you can.

The opportunity to gently taper off carbon emissions and reduce fossil fuel usage has been and gone. That said, I'd ban crypto and AI in a heartbeat which would drastically reduce global energy usage at a stroke.

And the longer we fail to fully commit, the more severe and less feasible the action required to even attempt a fix becomes.

So to confirm, now we have near-final numbers: Every time 19 Tory MPs get a bit grumpy this parliament and stick their letters into the 1922 Committee... ...it'll automatically trigger a leadership contest.

The sport of roller derby also comes from the Great Depression. Rollerskating endurance races, competing for money over hours or even days, were a relatively cheap way to entertain people, and gradually it became spiced up with unisex team races, sprints, and then full contact blocking and tackling.

Dracula is also about the degeneration resulting from inbreeding and inherited old money and titles among central European aristocracy; Dracula is just as monstrous because he's a Count as he is a vampire, and his real estate purchases are seen as much of a blight on London as he is on its populace.

Reminds me of how a 1966 V&A exhibition of the works of Aubrey Beardsley - himself inspired by ukiyo-e prints - was a seminal influence on the visual style of the late '60s counterculture design and fashion, and prompted an Art Nouveau revival, and arguably brought 'obscenity' into the mainstream.

The Montague Place entrance is a lot less grand than the main one on Great Russell St, but is usually quieter and quicker to get into the museum through the bag check at the doors. Be advised that things like pocket knives and such will be confiscated.

I think they've recently been restricting access through the main entrance to exhibition ticket holders and possibly school trips, coach parties and the like, and general public access has been through the rear entrance in Montague Place. Unsure if that also applies to weekends.

The twin poles of HPL's cosmic horror - fear of what you are and fear of insignificance in a implacably hostile universe - are the fear of not being white enough, either through one's own ancestry, or that just being white no longer makes you important in the world.

Right wing papers going in to bat for transphobes is nothing new, I'll just be glad when the transphobes aren't literally in charge of setting equality and human rights policy. (Now watch as Starmer gives that brief to Duffield)
