In general, it'd be nice if we stopped defining business success as "turning a giant profit all the time in every season" and started defining it as actually serving a need and enthusiastic customer base regularly.

I don't think we should be negatively judging owners who come in and do this. Often a lot of unpaid hours logged in business as an owner and people simply aren't consuming things like they used to. Unlimited expansion capitalism isn't going to continue to be a thing in the same way.

Eh, no? Not paying yourself is kind of a benchmark of just being a business owner sometimes. I don't really know how it works for franchises, but I think that should be value-neutral. In general when you run a biz it's not all turning a profit all the time.

Important thread. Personally I was an early adopter for artwork purposes in 2022, and then it started no longer serving #MMIXArt 's purposes anyway, so we've abandoned and vocally made a break with it in our #Art .It seems to be getting quickly enshittified.
