if my husband was a political thug or identified insurrection instigator (same thing I guess) he'd be mercilessly disowned by my family and shuffling thru divorce papers. He would not be able to escape us fast enough. These bland denials from public officials and justices are not credible

Avoided covid for 4 years. Finally infected by someone outdoors during a 15 min convo in which they 'mentioned' they were covid + as they walked away. Outrageous. So is the cost of Paxlovid for anyone without insurance, see below!

the corsi-rosenthal concept is genius, for sure. we have built three goofy-looking ones. only thing I haven't been able to figure out to my satisfaction is how to keep the duct tape from looking all squiggly. I wish more people would consider using them as a cheap efficient way to clean air.

Forwarded to many colleagues. Even if professionalism/ethics/rights arguments are not sufficiently convincing, why aren't providers protecting themselves and their families' health for selfish reasons? Infection control used to include both patient AND personal safety measures to everyone's benefit.

If only clean indoor air were a public health priority. Resp viruses, wildfire smoke, building materials (asbestos), gases (CO, radon), fumes from cleaning supplies, etc. all contribute to chronic illnesses. Elevated CO2 causes drowsiness, headaches, and loss of concentration. (gifted article)

Blue state nurse practitioner here- university hospital- so I can't put all the blame on politics. Many colleagues read the same science I do yet do not implement protective measures. Inconvenience? Denial? Mask availability? Maybe hospital $$ pressures? And, yes, vanity, all probably contribute.

I think vanity and inconvenience- not principle- STILL underlie mask resistance. People w- public profiles didn't want masks interfering with carefully crafted image management schemes. Masks wreck hair/makeup and may not be comfortable when they don't fit. Vanity + inconvenience = ignore the data.
