it really makes me think about how much the genre has changed that the expectation is now the Final Girl will fight back in some form. Thinking about Ripley probably being the front runner here, but also Sidney Prescott, and probably owing something to I Spit On Your Grave, too

I will say though it's at times like this when I'm watching a shitty teen horror movie with a sobby blonde Final Girl that I really, REALLY appreciate the genre flip that was Buffy. Especially, ESPECIALLY when it's a squeaky blonde. PICK UP THAT GODDAMN STICK AND FIGHT BACK, GIRL!!
