Hot take: I'm truly not interested in hand wringing over how much people will miss enjoying the books of men who have turned out to be abusers. I'm far more concerned about the missing art that women haven't been able to create/publish because they crossed paths with such men.

When I was a very little kid, I once asked my dad how many times a person is supposed to wipe. Is there some specific number of wipes to aim at, a minimum or maximum, etc. "You wipe until there's no more shit," he told me. This remains deep wisdom.

In a world where the law is taken seriously, yes. In a world where the law is nothing but a weapon to be used against lesser people, I'm not so confident. All he has to do is inject more chaos into the process.

All it takes is one case ending up in front of Matthew Kacsmaryk. It literally doesn't matter whether it's legitimate or not. He issues some insane-ass injunction against the candidate and now we're waiting on the Supreme Court, who sits on their hands. (1/2)
