The most interesting detail in that story is the slow boil of his immediate staff (everything is fine! We haven’t noticed a decline) and the folks who see him every few weeks or months and have perspective who say “oh this ain’t good, he is worse every time.”

Two options: Biden owns up or it gets exposed…eventually. This is a big scoop and word will get out. The only question is when and on whose terms. Cognitive decline doesn't get better and is exacerbated by the rigors of things like a months-long campaign. The “bad night” excuse works exactly once.

He's definitely old, but I'm unimpressed when the manifestation is just this: "he moves more slowly, speaks more softly and has moments when he loses his train of thought more often"
