It’s hard not to see the election media coverage as a performance of, for, and by a very specific set of people who ostensibly spend their days trying to understand the motivations of The Common Person but who really just want to dictate to them how they should feel and act.

It's all about selling clicks, not about the actual principles of journalism. If they were concerned with actually doing their jobs, we wouldn't be in this predicament. We wouldn't be hearing nonstop chatter about Biden stepping down contrasted with radio silence on Trump's felonies.
