Hi! The Onion is bringing back our Writing Fellowship.

The fellowship has produced some of the biggest names in comedy, at The Onion and elsewhere.

It was a casualty private equity. We are reviving it.

The program is six months long and includes health insurance.

I agree, but I also think it's the spin that higher ups and funding agencies can accept because they often don't get it.

Timely paper - One of the topics for my research group meeting was about resilience. I am not sure I did my best job talking about, but I hope talking about failure and developing support systems was helpful in some way.

I found out that some observations and analysis my research group has been performing are useful for a theorist's interpretation of another dataset. That makes me very very happy as a through and through observer.

Original post is deleted but we can still do coronagraphy with STIS with just one gyro. Scheduling gets a bit tougher but it’s premature to say coronagraphy might be dead now…

A nice summary here as well of the gyros, HST pointing, and one gyro mode. Looks like HST will not be able to observe moving objects that are closer to Earth than Mars' orbit. #HST

Hubble moves to single gryo mode. This moves ensures the space telescope can keep on observing well reserving/saving one of the good functioning gyros for the future. #HST

Had the privilege to sit on a thesis viva (defense) panel this week. I have to say, one of the best parts of the job is being able to be one of the first people to congratulate a new PhD in astronomy/planetary science/astrophysics by referring to them as Dr.
