She is soooo loving. I hate that rehoming has to happen. She chirps & talks to me, runs to me if I come in the room, rubs & nuzzles on Nate & I with a constant purr. We got bloodwork out to make sure it wasn't false + & to check her general health. She's an angel.

she almost certainly will be put to sleep, so now we have to keep her quarantined until we find a no kill org or adopter who does special needs. All she wants to do is rub on people & be petted & laze around! We wish we could keep her forever. It's too bad you aren't closer--she's a perfect cat!

Yeah, while we were going through her vet records with the shelter, I asked & they said they don't snap test unless an animal is sick, because most cats test negative. We always quarantine & had hoped she'd be in the 95% that are negative, but we got super unlucky. If she goes back to the shelter,

other cats. It's just...what shitty luck. This girl has been through so much, & she is such a chill, cuddly angel in her quarantine room. Can't take her back to the shelter, I want her to end up somewhere that can spoil her & be attentive to her medical needs.

Getting the snap test confirmed w/ PCR, just in case, but she's 2 & had a litter in the shelter, so it's unlikely that it's false. Her prognosis is probably great, & most mixed +/- households see no cat to cat transmission. But P is high risk & Stella is still learning how to not be obnoxious to

When we adopted Stella we met 3 other kitties. This 1 was running out of time in a city shelter--we wanted to save her. She's *The Sweetest.* 😭 Got her tested, & she's FIV+. 💔 Casual transmission in healthy cats is rare, but our 19yo calico is immunocompromised & fragile, so looking at rehoming...💔

😆🤢 That sounds awful! Haven't had that, but I had vomitpalooza 2019 where 3 out of (at the time) 4 of them were having issues! Everyone went to the vet, got care, & recovered quickly, but what a long day & a half!

Cute criminal! Yep. We've had to do that everywhere we've lived due to cabinet exploring (or banging cabinet doors for attention) kitties. Back when I had my 1st black & orange tortie, I had to do drawers, too, & I needed 1 of the appliance 1s because she'd break into the freezer & pull stuff out.

The crime rate in our household is back up to a new high. She's gotten inside a box spring, is a repeat bookcase/tall shelf/top of fridge offender, schemes to get behind the freezer drawer/in the dishwasher & laundry closet. Having to update our procedures/cat proofing. Our elder calico judges her.

I'm so sorry. 💔 *sending you so much empathy & hopes that your final days with her are peaceful & happy* Lost our 21 year old elder stateskitty in January & my sweet little 13 year old black cat to cancer (also a multi-year thing) at the end of last month. It's a lot in a short time frame.

thanks. we're trying to hang in there. it was a rough weekend with some sweet moments, some playful moments, but she started declining sharply sunday. she did catch a very late in season crane fly around 5:30AM Monday before her appointment, though. she was playful & loving til the very end. 💓💔

She's eaten more & played a little after subQs. She's done so well & been so happy for so long. Her planectomy gave her 3 yrs as of today, all but immediate post op & the past ?10? days were pretty great. URI is better, but the cancer took a sharp turn in the past week, so it's her farewell weekend.

This was on the 14th. Hoping we see more of this in the next day or so. The LBC has had a few moments of mischief since we got her nose less stopped up this week. She's eating more on her own tonight. She shook a few pieces of chicken, like she does.💓 We'll see how she does the next few days.

This one, on the other hand, is uncharacteristically playful lately, despite her upcoming 19th birthday. She goes to the vet for a check up on her ongoing conditions this week. 🤞 everything is stable. We don't see anything worrisome, but I feel like our luck has been kinda bad this year.

*opiates--She has incurable cancer, ffs, under-treating pain got us in trouble here. We've had to advocate for that & for transdermal gabapentin vs oral (she, like many cats, can't tolerate the bitterness). I just hate how many extra steps it's taken & that it put her off food, risking liver issues

subQs for the Little Black Cat achieved. Her breathing is much better, appropriate pain mgt*, anti-nausea meds just in case, & she's eating food from our hands (though we may need to do a little assisted feeding later if she's not eaten enough). The idea is to get her a lot more comfortable.
